How Research Experience Opens Doors to Jobs and Graduate Studies

Professor Chen Li’s research group is hosting a career pathways workshop for UCI CS undergraduates and MCS students interested in internships, job searching, industry careers, and graduate school applications.

The workshop features current and former members of Professor Li’s projects, who will share their experiences across internships, industry roles, and graduate programs. Speakers will discuss how research and project experience helped them build technical skills, prepare for interviews, explore career options, and strengthen their applications.   Topics include:

  • Building technical skills
  • Exploring different career paths
  • Strengthening job and graduate school applications
  • Preparing for careers

Students drawn to software engineering, data science, research, industry careers, or graduate school are all encouraged to attend. There will also be opportunities to ask questions and interact with the speakers during the Q&A sessions.
